Chernyshenko announced the creation of a center for the study of the Russian language in Vietnam

Russia is transforming the Hanoi branch of the State Institute of the Russian Language. A.S. Pushkin (KhFIRYAP) to the regional center for the study of the Russian language in Southeast Asia. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko during his visit to Vietnam.
“In Vietnam, for more than 30 years, there has been a Hanoi branch of the Institute of the Russian Language. A.S. Pushkin, who fulfills the noble mission of preserving and continuing the traditions of learning the Russian language. We plan to bring this work to a qualitatively new level and transform the branch into the Russian Language Center of Southeast Asia,” the press service quotes Chernyshenko.
The Vice Prime Minister noted that the Russian language unites the cultures of Russia and Vietnam. Now more than 3,000 students from the republic are studying in Russian universities. In 2023, the government plans to allocate 1,000 seats for them.
Chernyshenko presented gratitude for the dissemination of the Russian language and culture to the director of the KhFIRYAP Nguyen Thi Thanh Dat and other employees of the institute. The Deputy Prime Minister also announced the holding of the Vietnam Week in Moscow, the event will be held in mid-April.
In addition, the Russian delegation visited Hanoi State University (KSU). Chernyshenko noted the great interest of the site for Moscow, since Russia is actively developing a program to create a network of world-class student campuses.
17 campus projects were selected in 2021 and 2022. At the end of March, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin informedthat the construction of eight of them, including in Tomsk, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Ufa and Kaliningrad, has already begun.
