The newest Russian T-14 Armata tank is in service with the Russian Armed Forces, said Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov. Russian state agencies previously reported that the tank was being used against Ukrainian troops.

“The army, of course, has it in service,” said Mr. Chemezov “RIA News”.

The T-14 Armata tank was developed by the Ural Design Bureau of Transport Engineering (part of Uralvagonzavod). The T-14 has a new layout – its turret with the weapons complex is uninhabited, and three crew members are in an isolated armored capsule in the front of the hull. The tank has a combined multi-layer armor, its power can reach 1.5 thousand horsepower (up to 80 km/h). The main armament is a 125 mm 2A82-1M smoothbore gun.

Source “RIA Novosti” in April 2023 saidthat Russian troops began to use T-14 Armata to fire at Ukrainian positions. In July of the same year, TASS source statedthat the group of troops “South” used a tank in battle. Mr. Chemezov in December saidthat the state corporation’s specialists are working to increase the firepower of the Armata tank. It is claimed that in the future it will become an “even more formidable weapon.”
