Chemezov announced an increase in the production of hypersonic missiles “Dagger”

Rostec has increased the output of the Kinzhal hypersonic missile systems, which was announced by the CEO of the state corporation Sergey Chemezov. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported on the use of Kinzhal missiles in a Russian special operation in Ukraine.

“I got into the stream a long time ago, it’s just that initially such an amount was not required. That’s why we’re increasing now.” said Chemezov on the air of the Military Acceptance program on the Zvezda TV channel (quote from RIA Novosti).

According to the head of Rostec, the state corporation produces a large number of products for the country’s Ministry of Defense, and the volume of production of military products “grew significantly, in some cases – more than 50 times.”

After the start of a military special operation in Ukraine, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, announced the use of the Kinzhal missile system. On March 18, 2022, rockets destroyed an underground warehouse of missiles and aviation ammunition of Ukrainian troops in the village of Delyatyn, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

In August, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Kinzhal missile had been fired three times applied in Ukraine. According to the minister, no one else has such a missile: “both hypersonic, and with such speed, and with such penetrating capabilities.” The Kinzhal cannot be “neither detected nor intercepted,” Shoigu argued. The missile develops a speed of more than Mach 10 and is capable of changing its trajectory along the way both in vertical and horizontal planes, the head of the defense department added.

At the end of December, Chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov declaredthat the Kinzhal hypersonic missile system during the special operation demonstrated invulnerability to the air defense systems deployed in Ukraine.
