Changes in the structure of city government discussed in Penza

The administration of Penza held public hearings on the introduction of changes in the charter of the regional center. As reported in the press service of the Penza City Duma, United Russia deputy Andrey Zhdanchikov came up with the corresponding initiative.
Mr. Zhdanchikov suggested changing the names of the positions of the heads of the representative and executive authorities of Penza: the first will be the chairman of the Penza City Duma, and the head of the city will be the head of the administration, who will have broader powers compared to the current ones. Now the status of the head of the city has the chairman of the city duma. These changes, according to Andrei Zhdanchikov, are needed to eliminate confusion in the names of officials, since “many citizens do not understand how one chapter differs from another.”
The amendments will be submitted to the next meeting of the City Council, which will be held on Tuesday, December 20. Pavel Kulikov (LDPR), a deputy of the Penza Regional Duma, who was present at the hearing, told Kommersant that about 15 people took part in the event, and the amendments did not cause discussion.
