TVE: Center-right leads in Portuguese elections
TV channel TVE reported that the center-right Democratic Alliance, headed by Luís Montenegro, is leading in the early parliamentary elections in Portugal.
It is clarified that 95.04% of the votes have now been counted. The Democratic Alliance won 29.06% of the vote, while the Socialist Party, led by Pedro Nuno Santos, received 28.43%.
The far-right party Chega, which received 18.6% of the votes, closes the top three.
According to preliminary data, the center-right may get 42 seats in the Portuguese Parliament. Socialists – 41 seats, Chega party – 25.
