The TASS news agency and the Central Election Commission (CEC) on Tuesday entered into a partnership agreement aimed at informing and raising the legal awareness of voters. The document was signed by CEC Chairman Ella Pamfilova and TASS Director General Andrey Kondrashov.

This is a new level of interaction, said Ms. Pamfilova, who thanked TASS for covering the electoral process and noted that the agency transmits “always very accurate, correct, fact-based information.” In turn, Mr. Kondrashov thanked the CEC for the trust and promised that the entire regional TASS network would cover the upcoming elections in September, in total, more than 100 people would work in the elections.

He added that TASS will talk about the autumn elections, including to an international audience, on its news feeds, which are now available in all UN languages. “I am absolutely sure that both locally and in the center the Central Election Commission will demonstrate complete openness, and we will fight to ensure that all facts are carefully verified and freed from all sorts of fakes, which, no doubt, will persecute us,” he assured General Director of TASS: Because any election process in Russia is always pursued by a number of information attacks, and it’s good that the Central Election Commission is open, and we, as a serious agency, can always check the facts and prevent false information from being published.”

Ella Pamfilova also admitted that she is grateful to her ill-wishers for the “stuffed bumps” in the course of her political career. “All my enemies and opponents have made a huge contribution to personal development and never let me calm down. And thanks to this, I have what I have now,” said the head of the CEC, answering a question about her political career.
