Cavusoglu: the growth of trade turnover between Turkey and Russia is due to the rise in price of natural gas

The growth in trade turnover between Turkey and Russia is due to an increase in the price of natural gas, which Ankara buys from Moscow. This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu following talks with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
“Indeed, our trade turnover with Russia has grown, but 60% of it is in the purchase of energy resources. Unfortunately, because of the war (in Ukraine.— “b”) gas prices have tripled. And therefore, the volume of trade turnover has grown,” the minister said at a press conference (quoted by TASS).
In October 2022, Vladimir Putin declaredthat Russia could create a gas hub in Turkey to compensate for the lost volume of transit through Nord Stream after their damage. In December, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declaredthat the authorities are carrying out preparatory work to create a gas hub for the supply of the resource to Europe. Turkey counts launch the hub within a year.
Details – in the publication “Kommersant FM” Turkey’s gas hub remains unshakable.
