The cost of tours to Thailand with arrivals in March and April began to decline relative to the winter period, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR). Booked travel figures show that Thailand will continue to lead the Russian sales rankings. However, they note in ATOR, there will be no significant reduction in the cost of tours.
The price of travel to Thailand has risen sharply compared to “pre-pandemic rates,” ATOR said. According to travel agents, in 2019, travelers paid an average of about 40-50 thousand rubles for holidays in this country. However, subsequently the cost of tours increased to 200 thousand rubles.
“It was difficult for tourists to accept the fact that Thailand is no longer a budget destination. They greeted the current prices with the phrase “We don’t need Thailand for that kind of money!” and refused to travel… Now the situation has normalized, tourists have accepted reality, and the Thai price tag no longer frightens them,” said Georgy Pogosov, director of the Marcelina Travel network of travel agencies.
According to ATOR, in February the cost of most tours to Thailand ranged from 180,000 to 200,000 rubles. for two. However, at the moment, prices have begun to decline.
