In accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Justice of Russia, the Moscow Kanega Center declared about the termination of work. The agency closed 15 branches and representative offices of various international organizations and foreign NGOs.
The representative office of the American Carnegie Endowment began its work in Moscow in 1992 after the signing of the corresponding decree by the head of the Russian Federation, Boris Yeltsin.
In April of this year, the Ministry of Justice excluded the organization from the register, as did the representatives of Human Rights Watch, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the Rosa Luxembourg Foundation and many others.
The decision was received in connection with “revealed violations of the current legislation of the Russian Federation.”
