The cargo turnover of Russian seaports in the first six months of this year increased by 10.5% in annual terms, amounting to 453.3 million tons, reported on the Rosmorrechflot website.

“The high growth rate of the overall indicator was ensured by a strong increase (+18.2%) in the transshipment of dry cargo, primarily grain, mineral and chemical fertilizers, coal and coke, which reached 224.7 million tons. The cargo turnover of the seaports of the Arctic Basin amounted to 49.5 million tons (+2% yoy), the Baltic – 129.8 million tons (+5.2%), the Azov-Black Sea – 151.2 million tons (+21.2% ), the Caspian – 3.6 million tons (+38%), the Far East – 78.9 million tons (+7.5%).

In 2023, the increase in this indicator will be ensured by the introduction of the capacities of the LNG terminal in the Murmansk region (10.4 million tons), the Sukhodol coal terminal in Primorsky Krai (12 million tons), the universal port terminal in Ust-Luga (8 million tons) and an LNG transshipment terminal in Bechevinskaya Bay (11 million tons).
