The Canadian government is going to intensify its participation in anti-corruption projects in Ukraine. This was announced by the Ambassador to Kyiv Natalka Tsmok, whose words are quoted by The Globe and Mail.
She noted that Canada could start training Ukrainian judges and auditors. The Canadian diplomat added that Kiev understands that the fight against corruption is a very important condition for the country’s accession to the European Union.
“[Украинцы] admit that it [борьба с коррупцией – прим.] a very important reform, they know that this is one of the conditions for joining the EU,” Tsmok said.
It is worth noting that the diplomat was appointed ambassador on August 24. She noted that by October Canada intends to fully equip the embassy in Kyiv. It is specified that 22 diplomats will work there.
