The press service of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau released a statement on Monday that Canada would expand the Russian sanctions list by another 23 names.
The statement says that the country’s authorities are imposing additional sanctions against the Russians, which will affect 23 people with links to the Russian justice and security system. It is noted that sanctions will be imposed against law enforcement officers, prosecutors, judges, investigators and prison staff involved, according to the Canadian leadership, “in human rights violations against the leaders of the Russian opposition.”
The list, which includes 23 names, was published on the website of the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but the positions are not indicated in it.
