Cameron arrived in Kyiv on his first visit as head of the British Foreign Office

Former British Prime Minister David Cameron made his first working visit in his new position. As Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, he came to Kyiv. President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky announced this in his Telegram channel.

“Good meeting. Weapons for the front, strengthening air defense, protecting our people and critical infrastructure. I am grateful to Britain for its support,” Zelensky wrote.

Cameron was appointed Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs on 13 November. He succeeds James Cleverley, who was appointed UK Home Secretary earlier today. Suella Braverman, who served as head of the kingdom’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, was fired.

Cameron served as Prime Minister of Great Britain from 2010 to 2016. During this period, discussions began about Britain’s exit from the European Union. In 2015, the Conservatives introduced a bill into parliament calling for a referendum on the issue. According to the results of the vote held on June 23, 2016, 51.9% of Britons supported Brexit. Cameron himself advocated maintaining Britain’s membership in the EU and reforming it. The day after the referendum results were announced, Cameron announced his resignation.
