Mr. Katyrin reported “Izvestia”that the tax will be transferred by three out of four companies that are subject to the one-time tax by the end of November. Experts interviewed by the newspaper suggested that some companies will pay the tax later without a discount, for example, so that they have ruble liquidity.

Windfall tax is a tax for large businesses whose average profit over the previous two years was more than 1 billion rubles. It is set at 10% of the excess of the company’s profit for 2021–2022 over 2018–2019. The money must be paid by January 28, 2024. However, companies can only pay 5% if they deposit money before November 30th. About 2.5 thousand companies must pay the tax.

The Ministry of Finance expects that the entire business will pay 300 billion rubles. On November 20 was introduced only 40 billion rubles. Norilsk Nickel told Izvestia that it had made the payment (as follows from the company’s materials, we are talking about 8.3 billion rubles). HeadHunter previously reported the transfer of 268 million rubles. Sber intends to send 3 billion rubles by the end of the month, Rosseti – 1.6 billion rubles, Rostelecom – 700 million rubles.
