British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced “criticism” of Russia at the G20 summit in Indonesia, and called the main reasons.
“We will criticize the Putin regime and expose their deep contempt for the form of international cooperation and respect for sovereignty that forums like the G20 represent,” Sunak said.
Sunak has already promised that the forum will not proceed as usual. Earlier it was reported that representatives of the European Union and Great Britain would take measures to isolate the Russian delegation at the upcoming G20 summit. The Telegraph newspaper wrote that the Europeans also planned to boycott Russian speakers at the summit and would “work with partners” to prevent them from meeting with the Russian delegation. It is also planned to leave the event during the speech of Russian speakers.
In addition, it was reported that the UK plans to use the G20 to build “regional alliances based on British values.”
The G20 summit will be held in Bali on November 15-16. Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend the event, but may speak online. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will head the Russian delegation.
