Members of the Royal Marines of Great Britain took part in covert operations on the territory of Ukraine. Lieutenant General Robert Magowan spoke about this in an article for the Marine Corps magazine Globe and Laurel, reports the Times.
As the commander noted, the British Marines were involved in supporting “stealth operations” in a very difficult environment. Magowan stressed that the missions of the Crown military were very risky.
The general told how a detachment of 350 marines and 45 commandos was sent to guard the diplomats of the British embassy in early 2022. Then, according to the general, it was clear that Russia would soon launch a special military operation against Ukraine. Marines provided security for British diplomatic workers in Kyiv.
