Military commentator David Ax in an article for Forbes reported that Great Britain transferred its Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine without sets of additional armor.

“Most likely, British representatives took such a step because additional armor would have added several tons to the total weight of the tank. This would make the Ukrainian Challenger 2 even less maneuverable,” said Ex.
According to him, British combat vehicles are characterized by low maneuverability on soft soils. They often get stuck, and other tanks are needed to get them out.
