UK authorities are planning to take measures aimed at combating the problem of China recruiting its former military pilots to instruct local pilots. This is reported by The Telegraph with reference to British Defense Minister Grant Shapps.
According to the minister, appropriate amendments have already been made to the legislation in order to solve this problem. The new measures will soon take effect, but the specific details of these changes, as well as possible penalties, remain in question.
As of 2022, around 30 former British pilots have benefited from “very generous” employment conditions offered by China through third parties. In this way, the Chinese military leadership plans to speed up the training of its pilots.
