Britain imposed sanctions against 92 individuals and companies from Russia

The UK has extended sanctions against Russia, imposing new restrictions on the management of several large enterprises, representatives of Russian elites and four banks. About it informed government press office.

“Today, we are imposing sanctions on the elite that run key sectors of Putin’s business and are committed to banning the export to Russia of all items that Russia has used on the battlefield,” said British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley.

Under restrictions In particular, the top management of Rosatom, 34 heads associated with the state corporation Rostec and the Almaz-Antey concern, as well as 20 heads of Aeroflot and Gazprom, were hit. Sanctions were also imposed against Nord Stream 2 CEO Matthias Warnig, Lyubov Kabaeva, mother of former gymnast Alina Kabaeva, Tula Region Governor Alexei Dyumin, Alexei Kozak, son of former Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev, and others.

The UK also imposed a ban on the export to Russia of products used “on the battlefield”, as well as on the import from Russia of 140 items of goods, including iron and steel products processed in third countries.

In total, more than 1,500 Russians have already fallen under British sanctions, the government of the kingdom noted.

London last December turned on 12 Russian military leaders were on the sanctions lists, and in November another 22 positions were placed under restrictions, in particular, Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and head of the CEC of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova, head of the Federal Penitentiary Service Arkady Gostev, as well as military commissars and 10 heads of Russian regions, including the head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov.

Late September 2022 UK introduced a ban on providing the Russian side with consulting services in the field of IT, architectural, engineering, advertising and auditing services, as well as legal advice on transactions. Then the chairman of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, fell under the sanctions. At the end of July, the UK imposed personal sanctions against a third of Russian governors.
