Josep Borrell: European defense industry needs to be revived
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said that the European defense industry was “unprepared” for the events around Ukraine.
Borrell, writing for the newspaper El Pais, said that Europe must “arm Ukraine with the necessary means” and revive its defense industry by increasing production capacity.
Russian politicians have repeatedly stated that pumping arms into Ukraine may prolong the conflict and increase the number of victims, but will not prevent Russia from achieving its goals.
