The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, quoted a well-known aphorism and called on Western countries to increase arms production. He wrote about this on social networks.
“Everyone, including me, always prefers oil to guns, but without adequate guns we may soon find ourselves without oil. “Si vis Pacem, Para Bellum” – if you want peace, prepare for war,” Borrell pointed out.
He noted that the socio-economic situation in Europe is now very tense. Therefore, it is difficult to increase military spending and build up defense capabilities. However, you need to do this to maintain safety. Borrell stressed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces urgently need more ammunition, but the EU is not yet able to provide it.
