Borrell: next weeks will be critical for Ukraine

On March 8, Stockholm hosted an informal meeting of EU defense ministers. During a press conference following the meeting, Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said that Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov briefed them on the situation at the front. Borrell stressed that in order to obtain peace, Ukraine needs to win the war.
During the meeting, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov spoke about the current military situation on the ground and what military needs Ukraine has. Borrell noted that the next weeks and months, and especially weeks, will be critical, as the military situation remains very difficult, especially in Bakhmut, where heavy fighting continues.
“Therefore, we must continue to support Ukraine … The Ukrainian armed forces need our constant support, in particular, in artillery ammunition. And in this case, time is of no small importance. We need to deliver more, and we must deliver them as quickly as possible,” he said. Borrell at a press conference.
