The level of military support for Ukraine from the European Union has reached 27 billion euros, said EU diplomacy head Josep Borrell. Before the start of the meetings of the EU foreign ministers in Brussels, he did not announce progress and new decisions to increase further assistance to Kyiv.
Borrell urged not to forget that hostilities on the territory of Ukraine continue.
“Our assistance to Ukraine is growing, I can say that it has reached the level of 27 billion euros in military support. This is the highest figure ever achieved,” said the head of EU diplomacy.
He also added that European instructors continue to train the Ukrainian military.
Earlier, Josep Borrell proposed creating a fund for military assistance to Ukraine until 2027. It is expected that 5 billion will be allocated from it annually.
French Minister of Defense Sebastien Lecornu stated that Paris wants to stop the supply of weapons from its arsenals. He clarified that Ukrainian representatives must pay for arms supplies from a special support fund.
