Borrell announced EU plans to launch a mission to train Ukrainian soldiers

The European Union is discussing the issue of launching a mission to train Ukrainian soldiers in one of the countries close to Ukraine, said the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell.
“This will be an important mission. Any mission should be at the level of conflict. This is not a small war,” Borrell said at a press conference in Spain (quote according to TASS).
In response to the question where the training of Ukrainian soldiers will take place directly, Borrell replied that “it will not be in Ukraine, but in a neighboring country.” The discussion starts on August 29 in Prague at an informal meeting of the heads of the EU defense ministries.
On the eve of the French newspaper Le Monde informedthat the private military company Mozart is training Ukrainian soldiers on the line of contact in the Donbass. According to the newspaper, about 2,500 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were trained in four months, the head of the company, retired US Marine Corps Colonel Andy Milburn, told the publication.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. In March, the Russian leader said that the decision to conduct a special operation is associated with a real threat to Russia, which arose because of Ukraine’s desire to join NATO and the Ukrainian authorities’ statements about the possibility of acquiring nuclear weapons. On July 3, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Putin on the liberation of the LNR.
