Andrei Bogdanov submitted documents to the Central Election Commission (CEC) to participate in the Russian presidential elections as a candidate from the Russian Freedom and Justice Party (RPSS). This was reported by TASS and RIA Novosti correspondents.
The candidacy of Andrei Bogdanov was approved at the extraordinary congress of the RPSU, which took place on December 24. The RPSU is not represented in the State Duma, so to register his candidacy, Mr. Bogdanov needs to collect 100 thousand signatures by the end of January.
Andrey Bogdanov is 53 years old. He already participated in the Russian presidential elections in 2008. Then Dmitry Medvedev won, Mr. Bogdanov managed to get only 1.30% of the votes.
Voting in the presidential elections will take place over three days, from March 15 to 17, 2024. The current President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is running for election as a self-nominated candidate. Nikolai Kharitonov (from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Leonid Slutsky (from the LDPR), Vladislav Davankov (from New People), Boris Nadezhdin (from the Civil Initiative), Vladimir Mikhailov (from the Social Protection Party) and Sergei Baburin (from the “Russian All-People’s Union”).
