The restrictions could also include media companies that “engage in propaganda” in support of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, a Russian oil-exporting vessel reinsurer and a UK-registered shipping company.
In addition, as part of a new package of sanctions, the EU wants to force European banks to report on the assets of the Central Bank. As the agency notes, such a measure will be the first step towards considering options for using frozen Russian assets to restore Ukraine.
According to Bloomberg, the EU intends to adopt the tenth package of sanctions as early as next week, without waiting for the anniversary of the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine.

2 February European Parliament accepted a resolution calling on the EU countries to adopt the tenth package of sanctions against Russia “as soon as possible”. In addition, the European Parliament proposed imposing sanctions against Lukoil and Rosatom, as well as abandoning not only Russian oil and gas, but also uranium. At the same time, earlier Bloomberg source expelled getting “Rosatom” in the sanctions list.
EC President Ursula von der Leyen announced the tenth package of sanctions against Russia on 17 January. Then she noted that the restrictions will be aimed at correcting the shortcomings made in the development of previous packages. By words German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the tenth package of sanctions will come into force on February 24, the anniversary of the start of the special operation in Ukraine.
