Bloomberg: India will start supplying diesel fuel to the EU instead of Russia

After the entry into force of the EU embargo on Russian oil products, India can significantly increase the supply of diesel fuel to the EU, which it produces from the same Russian oil. At the same time, such exports will not be considered a violation of EU sanctions, Bloomberg reports.
After the entry into force of the European embargo on the import of Russian oil products on February 5, global routes for the supply of diesel fuel will change dramatically. This will be facilitated by new buyers of Russian oil, who, after processing the raw materials, will send the fuel back to Europe.
Among them, the agency names India, which in the last year has become one of the largest buyers of Russian oil at a discount. In December alone, Russia delivered 24 percent more crude oil to this country than a month earlier. It was mainly purchased by private Indian oil refineries.
Previously, Russia was the largest supplier of fuel to Europe. Now, according to the agency, the main buyers of Russian raw materials will be the countries of Africa, Latin America and Asia. To replace Russian supplies, the EU will have to supply up to 600,000 barrels of diesel per day.
