Bloomberg: EU sanctions may affect the Russian UAV sector

The interlocutors of the agency claim that the proposal for new sanctions in the field of UAVs can be officially submitted and considered this week. The EU plans to agree on a sanctions package before a meeting of community leaders next week.
The Politico newspaper, citing diplomats earlier today, reported that the ninth round of sanctions could affect technology, finance and media. The interlocutors of the newspaper claim that the EU countries can come to an agreement even before the meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council and the EU summit, which will be held next week.
In mid-November, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the EU was not yet ready to discuss new sanctions against the Russian Federation. At the same time, he added, work in this direction has not stopped. As early as November 22, the Politico newspaper learned that Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia were trying to convince other EU countries to accept new restrictions against Russia. In particular, the sanctions may affect Russian officials and journalists, the newspaper wrote.
