Former US Army intelligence officer Tony Schaffer suggested that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken only promises NATO membership to Ukraine, but after the presidential elections it could be left to the mercy of fate. The analyst commented on the words of Blinken, who said in early April that Ukraine would eventually join the North Atlantic Alliance, but now it is necessary to work out a clear road map to this.
The intelligence officer believes that the diplomat started talking about this right now because the United States does not want Ukraine to join NATO and will not allow this to happen.
US President Biden is trying to force the Ukrainians to just keep fighting until November 20, 2024, and then let them do what they want, Shaffer concluded.
