Blinken promised Pashinyan US help in solving problems with Azerbaijan

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed aspects of the Armenian-Azerbaijani issue with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a telephone conversation. Blinken promised US assistance in solving these problems, the press service of the Armenian government reports.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the deepening humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh caused by the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor, the build-up of Azerbaijani armed forces around Nagorno-Karabakh and increased tension on the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Blinken and Pashinyan stressed that it is important to resolve all these issues through dialogue and peaceful diplomatic efforts. The United States expressed its readiness to continue active assistance in resolving the situation, the press service indicated.
They also confirmed that Yerevan is ready to resolve all issues diplomatically and on the basis of constructive agreements reached earlier, in particular in Prague on October 6, 2022 and in Brussels on May 14, 2023. Pashinyan also expressed his readiness for urgent negotiations with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in order to resolve the conflict.
The Armenian Ministry of Defense previously announced joint exercises with the United States.
