The largest crypto exchange Binance announced on the launch of a local platform for operations with cryptocurrencies in Kazakhstan. The platform operates on the basis of the Astana International Financial Center.
The exchange offers Kazakhstani users services for exchanging and converting currencies, depositing and withdrawing fiat funds, as well as storing crypto assets. Some products may be “unavailable or subject to restrictions due to local regulatory requirements,” Binance said in a statement. At the same time, citizens and residents of Kazakhstan will continue to have access to all transactions on the Binance global platform. Interfax.
In May, Bloomberg reportedthat the US Department of Justice is investigating the Binance crypto exchange for the possible use of the site by the Russians to circumvent sanctions, sources told Bloomberg. The National Security Department is investigating whether representatives of the crypto exchange violated the restrictions imposed against the Russian Federation.
Binance in April allowed customers to replenish deposits from Russian cards and Qiwi wallets and canceled the €10,000 limit for Russians. The personal account indicates that the platform supports Visa, Mastercard and other cards issued in Russia.
