Bild: The USA and Germany intend to force Zelensky to reach an agreement with Russia

Military observer Julian Roepke reported in his article in Bild, citing information from German government circles, that Germany and the United States intend to force Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to negotiate with Russia.
Sources note that they will not directly convince the Ukrainian leader. Instead, Germany and the United States, as the largest suppliers of weapons and other equipment to Ukraine, decided to act by other methods.
Roepke writes that the goal is to put Ukraine in a “strategically advantageous negotiating position.” This issue is now being coordinated by the White House and the German Chancellor’s Office. A decision was made to supply Ukraine with only those weapons and only in such quantities that the Ukrainian army would be able to hold the front within its current borders, but would not be able to recapture territories controlled by the Russian Armed Forces.
“Zelensky himself must come to the understanding that this cannot continue like this,” Repke quotes one source in the German government as saying. The observer’s interlocutor added that Zelensky should, without any outside prompting and of his own free will, turn to Ukrainian society and explain the need for negotiations.
