Shipment of coal of all types in Russian ports increased by 18.3% in annual terms in January-April. According to Kommersant’s sources, at the beginning of the year, exports were at a low level, and since March there has been an increase in supplies. However, the share of shipments through the ports of the Far East and the South, which are the most profitable for exporters, is declining due to competition for railway capacity with other types of cargo. According to Argus, it will be difficult for Russia to keep sea exports at high levels in 2023 due to the reduction in the discount of Russian coal to world benchmarks.
