The Republika Srpska (part of Bosnia and Herzegovina) is ready to pay for Russian gas in rubles, said the head of its representative office in the Russian Federation, Dusko Perovic. Since June 1, the gas company GAS-RES, owned by the republic, has extended the contract with Gazprom. The Ministry of Energy of the republic said that the price was about $290 per 1,000 cubic meters. m.

“Gazprom renews the main contract every year, so we get the price – in fact, the market price, but according to the old formula. We are ready to pay in rubles. This is a technical issue. Of course, today we are experiencing difficulties with payment, because transfers through correspondent banks are delayed,” Mr. Perovich said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He also toldthat the BiH Council of Ministers agreed to start negotiations on the construction of a gas pipeline for gas supplies from Russia. Bosnia and Herzegovina is connected to Serbia’s pipeline transit system. Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik in September 2022 met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and then called the topic of gas one of the main ones.
