Biden tries to keep Iran out of ‘nuclear deal’ talks

The United States, together with allies, has developed a proposal to ensure a mutual return to the full implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). This should ensure that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons, US President Joe Biden said in a statement released August 1 by the White House press office.
Earlier in the day, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI), Deputy President Mohammad Eslami, said that Tehran has the technical ability to build an atomic bomb. Eslami explained that such an issue is not yet on the agenda. This is not the first such statement by the Iranian side – on July 10, the AEOI already reported that the country managed to produce uranium enriched up to 20% – the minimum level for creating a bomb.
