Biden: the United States had problems with the supply of Javelins to Kyiv due to a lack of chips

Deliveries of Javelin anti-tank missile systems to Ukraine were complicated by a shortage of computer chips, said United States President Joe Biden.
According to him, this became clear after he visited the Lockheed Martin plant in Alabama, where the complexes are produced.
“They didn’t have computer chips,” Biden said. At the same time, according to him, providing the country’s own needs with semiconductors is directly related to US national security.
Earlier, the Washington Times pointed out that there was a split in the American elites over the Ukrainian issue. This is due to the fact that assistance to Kyiv is provided in the face of difficulties in the US economy, in particular, the approaching recession. In October, American defense expert Harrison Kass said the US administration should change its approach to the conflict in Ukraine, cut financial and military aid to Kyiv, and start looking for a solution to the conflict. In his opinion, the new $50 billion assistance package to Kyiv will only aggravate the military confrontation with no chance of success for Ukraine.
Since February, the United States and the European Union have allocated billions of dollars for armaments for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Russian authorities accused the West of prolonging the conflict and stressed that military supplies to Kyiv would become legitimate targets for the Russian army.
