“I want to thank the Prime Minister of Colombia for the ASEAN Chairmanship,” he said.
The ASEAN summit has been held since 2005, this year it is chaired by Cambodia. Colombia – both a country in South America and a city in the US – is on the other side of the spectrum.
ASEAN consists of 10 countries – Indonesia, Cambodia, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand and the Philippines. However, delegations from other countries are also invited to the summit, including the United States and Russia.
