US President Joe Biden signed a temporary budget for the country that does not contain assistance to Ukraine.
Earlier, the US Senate, following the House of Representatives, approved the corresponding bill. This reportedly happened less than 4 hours before the deadline. It immediately became known that Biden was ready to support an interim budget. In order to prevent the cessation of government agencies due to lack of funding (shutdown), Biden had to sign the document before 00.00 Sunday (07.00 Moscow time). If the bill is approved, the government will receive short-term funding for 45 days, which will avoid a shutdown from October 1.
At the same time, Biden also said that the United States “under no circumstances” can allow aid to Ukraine to cease. Earlier, the White House appealed to the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, to consider a separate bill to help Kyiv. The White House recalled that McCarthy had previously stated his support for financing the Kyiv regime.
