US President Biden said he was not confident in the success of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
US President Joe Biden on Sunday expressed hope that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to carry out offensive operations, but there are no guarantees of their success, Interfax reports.
“We and our NATO allies know how many Ukrainian brigades have been trained, we know the status of these brigades,” Joe Biden said Sunday at a press conference following the G7 summit in Hiroshima, after meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
At the same time, the American president noted: “we have expectations about what they (the Armed Forces of Ukraine, – “MK”) can probably achieve.”
According to him, Washington at the same time does not know for sure whether results will be achieved, since, as Biden put it, “war is a changeable thing.”
Biden also said that he had discussed Kyiv’s further actions with Zelensky, but could not publicly report on his plans. And he added that even if he had known exactly the details of Ukraine’s intentions, he would not have disclosed them.
