Biden ignored Zelensky’s call after the incident with missiles in Poland

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky requested a call with US President Joe Biden after a rocket fell on the territory of Poland, but the conversation between the leaders did not take place. About it writes CNN, citing a source familiar with the situation.

The channel also claims that after Zelensky’s words about the fall of an allegedly Russian missile in Poland, US national security adviser Jake Sullivan called the office of the head of Ukraine and urged Kyiv to be more restrained in language.

Rocket crash in Poland happened November 15, resulting in the death of two people. Against the backdrop of these events, the Polish authorities called an urgent meeting of the national security committee. Then the Associated Press, citing a source in American intelligence, wrote that the missiles that fell in Poland were allegedly Russian. The Polish Foreign Ministry made a similar statement. However, AP later denied its publication, and Poland stated that there was no evidence that the rocket was launched from Russia.

November 16 Russian Ministry of Defense reportedthat experts identified the debris in photographs from the missile crash site in Poland as elements of the Ukrainian S-300 missile system. The department emphasized that all statements about the fall of supposedly Russian missiles on the territory of Poland are “a deliberate provocation in order to escalate the situation.”

Later White House published a statement in which he said that Washington still adheres to the preliminary version, according to which the missile that fell on the territory of Poland was launched by Ukrainian air defense.

In turn, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that Kyiv was not involved in the incident. According to him, the fallen rockets were not of Ukrainian origin. In response to Biden notedthat Zelensky’s words are not proof. After that, the Ukrainian leader softened his rhetoric and said that he “does not know 100%” about what happened.
