“Better than the original”: the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the production of spare parts for Western equipment

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Reznikov said that the country has learned to make spare parts better than the original
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that state-owned enterprises and private companies in his country have learned to produce some spare parts for Western military equipment “better than the original.”
“This is a war of resources…,” the minister said in an interview with TSN. – The ability to produce is limited and the partners too … “. According to him, some spare parts are produced on the Ukrainian market for Western equipment, both at state-owned and private enterprises.
He stated that he personally held in his hands one of these parts for the American M109 howitzer. And the parts made by Ukrainian specialists were “better than the original itself.”
Minor maintenance takes place “right on the battlefield,” Reznikov said. On the second line – more complex – repairs are carried out at Ukrainian enterprises. The third line – equipment is sent abroad, for which hubs have been built in partner countries.
