Belgium to send mobile laboratories and underwater drones to Ukraine

Belgium will send Kyiv mobile laboratories to monitor the chemical, radiation and bacteriological situation and 10 underwater drones, reported Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder in an interview with Soir newspaper.
In 2023, the Belgian military presence in the east will double compared to the current year, the minister said. According to Dedonder, Belgium’s assistance will complement the supplies of other countries, and the equipment being sent is in working order. Underwater drones will be delivered to Kyiv by the end of May in several stages.
“Belgium will soon implement the decision of the Belgian Council of Ministers to send [на Украину] 10 underwater drones, manufactured by the Belgian company ECA Robotics. These drones allow you to identify any underwater threat – from mines to spyware. This is a completely new technology that will help them greatly. The Belgian army is already using such means – said Minister (quote from TASS).
In addition, Brussels plans to organize 18 types of courses for the training of the Ukrainian military, which should begin in December.
This week it became known that the European Union trains emergency delivery of equipment to Ukraine to restore the supply of electricity and heat. As follows from the statement of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen following a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a total of 200 medium transformers and one large autotransformer from Lithuania, 40 heavy generators from EU stocks located in Romania will be delivered to the Ukrainian side.
