Belarusian military trained to work with Iskander nuclear munitions

The military personnel of the army of Belarus were trained in the use of tactical nuclear weapons for the Iskander-M missile system. About it reported in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The training took place at one of the training grounds of the Southern Military District from the beginning of April. “The personnel of the crews studied in detail the issues of the content and use of tactical special ammunition for the Iskander-M OTRK,” the press service of the ministry said.

The agency noted the “excellent results” and “maximum efforts” of the Belarusian military, which “confirmed a high level of readiness to perform tasks as intended.”

On March 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the completion of the construction of a storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) in Belarus by July of this year. The President noted that Moscow is not transferring nuclear weapons to Minsk, but is doing what the United States has been doing for many years.

At the same time, Putin said that 10 aircraft and Iskander missile systems, which could be carriers of nuclear weapons, had already been deployed on the territory of Belarus. This decision was made in response to NATO expansion, and also due to the fact that the United States is deploying its nuclear weapons on the territory of a number of European countries, while simultaneously training European military personnel to handle nuclear bombs.
