Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei dies

Suddenly died Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei, the BelTA agency reported on Saturday, citing Anatoly Glaz, press secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The politician was 64 years old.
Vladimir Makei was born in the Grodno region in 1958 and graduated from the Minsk State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages. In the 90s, Makei worked in the diplomatic service, including second secretary of the secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, deputy head of the State Protocol Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representative of Belarus to the Council of Europe and adviser to the embassy of the republic in France.
Then, until 2008, the diplomat worked as an assistant to the President of Belarus, after which he was appointed to the post of head of the presidential administration. Makei became Minister in 2012.
