“Kommersant Style” – about the bearers of ideally shaped beards and how to grow one for yourself and look well-groomed, not overgrown.

Many people think that growing a beard is easy – you just need to stop shaving (preferably longer) and a brutal beard will gradually appear by itself. So, but not quite: Facial hair is no different from head hair, and they need to be taken care of too. Today, beard care is more like skin care: the products that are now being produced are proof of this. For a beginner growing a beard, their variety can be confusing: oils, lotions, styling creams, special shampoos, peels, fixing waxes and pastes – it’s very easy to get confused. However, the choice largely determines the type of hair – for example, oil is ideal for owners of coarse, unruly hair, as well as for those who have dry skin. Experts advise applying oils to cleansed skin; they will not only moisturize it, but also help to “tame” the hair, promote more uniform beard growth.

There is one more step that should be included in your beard grooming routine and that is exfoliation. This process is not only pleasantly refreshing, but also allows beard products to properly penetrate, nourish the skin, eliminate dryness and flaking. This should be done no more than three times a week.

For those who have oily skin, moisturizing lotions are more suitable, or if the same oil, then in much smaller quantities. It is worth opting for natural formulations that do not contain silicone, as chemicals can dehydrate hair and skin, causing irritation, itching and dandruff. It is important that a beard, whether short or long, always needs careful combing – after applying the products, for their proper distribution.
