BCS Bank stopped transfers to subsidiaries of the Raiffeisen international group – Kommersant

Since August 10, the Russian BCS Bank has stopped making transfers in dollars and euros to subsidiaries of Raiffeisen Bank International, retaining only the possibility of transferring in dollars to the parent bank of the group in Austria.
Financial Telegram channel MarketOverview published a bank document on currency transfers, from which it follows that RBI subsidiary banks in Russia, Austria, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Kosovo, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Croatia, Czech Republic were removed from the list of recipients.
In Russia, according to the document, transfers from BCS in dollars and euros cannot now be made to Russian SIAB, SPB Bank and Azerbaijan’s Gunay Bank in dollars. At the same time, it is now possible to make currency transfers to the Russian Avtogradbank, Vitabank, Energotransbank, Promselkhozbank, Finservice Bank, the Kyrgyz Aiyl Bank, AIYL BANK OJSC, Commercial bank Kyrgyzstan, and the Tajik Commerce bank of Tajikistan.
What caused the changes is not reported.
In May, Reuters, citing sources wrote about the plans of the RBI group to transfer the division in Russia – Raiffeisenbank – to the shareholders. In March, the European Central Bank demanded from the group to close the Russian business. RBI promised reduce business activity in the country and announced plans to sell the Russian division or withdraw it from the group’s structure. In August the company moved the deadline for leaving Russia is from the end of September to the end of December 2023.
