Hero of Russia, commander of the Sparta battalion Artem Zhoga has been nominated for the post of chairman of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the regional branch of United Russia reported. The senator from the legislative assembly, according to Kommersant, will be an adviser to the acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, volunteer Alexander Voloshin. The first session of the DPR parliament is expected to take place today, August 20.
The Kherson Regional Duma has already held its first meeting, at which the rector of Kherson State University Tatyana Tomilina was elected as its chairman. The senator from the Legislative Assembly, as Kommersant expected, was now a former State Duma deputy, secretary of the Kherson cell of United Russia, Igor Kastyukevich.
In the Lugansk People’s Republic, according to Kommersant, the head of the People’s Council will remain the secretary of the Lugansk cell of United Russia, Denis Miroshnichenko, and Olga Bas will retain the post of parliamentary representative in the Federation Council.
