Bastrykin: mercenaries from more than 70 countries are participating in hostilities on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has established that mercenaries from more than 70 countries are taking part in the fighting on the side of the armed forces of Ukraine. About it declared Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin at the conference of the Constitutional Court.

“The facts of recruitment and participation in hostilities of mercenaries – adherents of the Nazi regime from more than 70 states, mainly Europe and America, pursuing the most active anti-Russian policy, have been established,” the SK Telegram channel quoted him as saying.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee also noted that the new article 79.1 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which states that Russia is taking measures to maintain and strengthen international peace and security, ensure the peaceful coexistence of states and peoples, and also prevent interference in the internal affairs of the state.

At the conference, Bastrykin also spoke about the presence of documentary evidence that in March last year, Kyiv was preparing a “special military operation against the Donbass with access to the borders of the Russian Federation,” transmits TASS.

Previously, the head of the IC, speaking at the youth St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, declaredthat since 2014 more than 5,000 people have been killed in the Donbas as a result of the actions of Ukrainian armed groups.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking on May 9 at the Victory Parade, saidthat against Russia “a real war has been unleashed again”, but the country has rebuffed international terrorism and will protect the inhabitants of Donbass. At the same time, Russia wants to see a peaceful, free and stable future, he said. The President stressed that the Russian Federation does not have “unfriendly, hostile peoples either in the West or in the East.”
