More than sixty sabotage and reconnaissance groups were neutralized in the Zaporozhye region after its annexation to Russia. This was announced by the Acting Governor of the region Yevgeny Balitsky in an interview with Izvestiya.
He stressed that about a year ago, when the referendum was held, the situation was much more complicated. At the same time, Balitsky noted that now the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not so active in the territory of the Zaporozhye region.
The head of the region linked the decrease in activity with a change in attitude towards saboteurs. According to him, representatives of law enforcement agencies do not always take prisoners. Therefore, those who come for the lives of the Cossacks must be prepared to lose theirs. Balitsky specified that there are noticeably fewer mercenaries among Ukrainians and representatives of other states who “want to participate for a couple of thousand dollars, to work as a hired killer.
Also, the Acting Governor of Zaporozhye assessed the beginning of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Balitsky noted its extreme inefficiency. He stated that powerful three lines of defense and strongholds every 7 kilometers are capable of significantly delaying the enemy when trying to break through.
