Saldo said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have changed tactics in the Kherson direction and are hitting the infrastructure

In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian military has changed tactics and is now actively shelling civilian infrastructure, said the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“The enemy is now concentrating on shelling civilian infrastructure. They are using artillery, including cluster munitions and mortars, but they only operate close to the front line,” Saldo said.

According to him, the population is especially terrorized by drones belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“Drones patrol the roads in the Aleshki and Kakhovka regions, attacking civilian vehicles. Ukrainian terrorists are sending drones to hospitals, public buildings, public transport stops, and residential buildings. This is a clear attempt to intimidate and terrorize the population,” the governor emphasized.

On Sunday, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of up to 50 Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel, three vehicles, two American howitzers, as well as an Msta-B howitzer and a D-30 gun in the Kherson direction.

The Kherson region, located in the lower reaches of the Dnieper and washed by the Azov and Black Seas, became part of the Russian Federation after a referendum in September 2022. The Ukrainian side did not recognize its results and continues to shell the territory. Currently, about 75% of the Kherson region is under Russian control, and part of the right bank of the Dnieper, including the city of Kherson, is defended by Ukrainian troops.
